Amazing weekend...

Just briefly...

We took this weekend away and headed to Kelowna to visit a few friends we have there. It was so, so, so nice to just do nothing if we wanted to. We wouldn't have done that at home, or at least not done that guilt-free.

We went to the pool, did a bit of shopping, walked to the market around the block in [brisk] the morning (and walked home with butter buns for a munch on the way home), sat around and talked, watched YouTube videos until I nearly peed my pants, took some photos and ate awesome food.

It was such a nice time to just breathe and not think about what has been going on and what is happening right now. It was just what we needed.

We also sorta did this trip just to make sure Piper was a good car traveller, and turns out, she is pro! On the way there, we stopped in Chilliwack, then Merrit for breaks/walk-arounds and diapers duties, then on the way home, we headed right from Kelowna all the way to Chilliwack without halting! We made awesome time. See, traveling with a baby is possible, and it was actually kinda fun. I needed to know Piper could do that, so I feel better now :)

Now, onto this week! My parents are coming down for a stint, as my dad is having some tests and procedures done regarding a health issue, and my Gram is also coming down, looking for a place to live in the near future. This will be one busy few weeks, but hopefully that will be good to keep my mind busy. We've got Piper's bone marrow biopsy on March 1st.

Otherwise, all is well! We've now got a baby gate up (thanks to Opa's handywork) and we are all happy to be home and unpacked.

Now for groceries.

She figured out the gate. Now for a latch!

  1. Yay Piper! The first time I traveled with Finn was when he was 2 months old to Osoyoos. I have to admit it wasn't great but the second time was a breeze. (He was about three months old) Who knew a few weeks would make the difference? I stopped to feed him in Hope. Glad to hear she's a pro. So handy when you have relatives out of town eh??

  2. Opa thinks maybe a combination lock is needed as ''little smarty pants'' will figure out a latch in no time!
